Brian Zanghi , CEO

Brian brings more than 20 years of sales and executive leadership in the high technology industry to Awareness, Inc. During his time as CEO of Kadient, he orchestrated the transformation of Kadient from an RFP automation software company to the leading provider of on-demand sales enablement applications. Brian was a key architect in orchestrating the merger between The Sant Corporation and Kadient to form Qvidian, the largest sales enablement company in the space. Prior to joining Qvidian, Brian was the Chief Operating Officer of SPSS, Inc., a $250 million publicly traded software business well known in the predictive analytics and statistical analysis market. In July, 2009 IBM announced its plans to acquire SPSS for $1.2B. He was formerly Executive Vice President of Worldwide Operations at eRoom Technology (acquired by Documentum), which was an early leader in web-based collaboration and hosted document management software. He was also President of PC Docs, where he was instrumental in that company’s high-growth phase from $8 million to $80 million and beyond. Earlier in his career, Brian was with Interleaf, a provider of integrated hardware and document creation technology that was, at the time, the leading provider of advanced document generation systems.

David Carter, Founder & Chief Technology Officer

David provides the overall technology direction of the company and consults with our customers to align their internet strategy with their corporate objectives. David founded WebPartz Inc. which was acquired by Awareness in March of 2003. Prior to forming WebPartz, he spent 11 years at Microsoft where he had held various positions including Manager of Internet Strategy, Marketing Manager Knowledge Management, Content Management, and eCommerce products. In each of these roles he worked closely with large corporations rolling out the Microsoft platform and developing a business strategy. His last role was as Internet Strategy Manager where he oversaw sections of microsoft.com and Microsoft Canada's Intranet.

Mike Lewis, VP of Marketing & Sales

Mike is an entrepreneur and marketing executive with a 14-year track record of success as a senior manager at early-stage technology companies.

Mike was most recently the CEO and Co-Founder of Stimulate Solutions, a SaaS software provider focused on leveraging social media to target leads and increase demand. He was responsible for general management and company operations, business development, marketing and sales. Prior to forming Stimulate, Mike led marketing activities at several early stage technology firms, helping them mature into highly successful organizations including StreamServe, Salesnet and RightNow Technologies. Mike served the President of the Business Marketing Association Boston for 3 years and earned a BA in Organizational Psychology from Stonehill College and an MBA from Bentley University in 2001.

Melissa Leffler, VP Engineering

Melissa Leffler brings more than 20 years of software engineering and business management experience to the Awareness team and has a successful history of building and leading large technical and operations teams to deliver great products. Prior to joining Awareness, Leffler was chief of operations and engineering for Global Health Delivery at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, where she led the creation of a collaborative community website that allows health care implementers from multiple organizations to connect and share practices, resources and tools.

Before that, Melissa helped start Liquid Machines, a company that provided document and email security for enterprises, and also eRoom Technologies, which showcased a product that enables distributed teams to work together more efficiently to optimize business processes and streamline decision-making. eRoom was later bought by Documentum and then EMC, and whose product is still used widely by customers today. Melissa fostered her entrepreneurial spirit by working at Lotus Development Corporation.

Stephen Tremblay, VP of Finance

Steve joined Awareness in January 2008, and is responsible for managing the operations of accounting, financial planning and reporting, treasury, and contract management. Prior to joining Awareness, Steve was Director of Finance at ClearForest, a provider of text analytics software, where he assisted in their acquisition by Reuters Group Plc. He also achieved considerable experience with several high-growth companies, including Molecular (acquired by Isobar) and Tessera Enterprise Systems (acquired by iXL).

In addition to his experience in emerging software companies, Steve has worked in large enterprise organizations, such as Siebel, where as Finance & Operations Manager he was responsible for over $100m of annual revenue within its Global Services Organization.

Steve holds a BS in Accounting from UMass Lowell and an MBA from Northeastern University.
