Are companies getting ANY value from online communities?

This is a question on a lot of people's minds, and the answer is "yup." 

A more detailed answer :) will be discussed next week when Francois Gossieaux from Beeline Labs and Ed Moran from Deloitte & Touche present the results of a study by Deloitte & Touche in a webinar entitled "The Tribalization of Business."

The study focuses a lot on the use of communities for marketing-sponsored external-facing communities that touch customers, prospects, and partners.  It presents both quantitative as well as qualitative results and recommendations.   As an example, here's a few slides they'll present.


I like this slide because it contains good content (what ARE companies doing with communities?) and it's clever -- it shows the data in a tag cloud format.

Here's one that is more conventional and filled with good data:  how do companies measure success and progress in their communities?

Francois showed me the material last week, and it's very exciting.  I was impressed by the content, and I really enjoyed listening to Francois present it.  He's not only knowledgeable and passionate about the subject, but he's entertaining and fun to listen to.  This webinar will be a big win.
