COMMENT: When our principle author was born, in 1946, there were less than 80,000 video screens on the planet. Today there are over 7,000,000,000 video screens . . . more screens than people. And the vast majority of information shared, passes through the technologies that utilize these screens. As Miller Freeman published in 1996, we are living in "the age of videography". As Marshall McCluhan wrote long ago, "The Medium is the Massage". We don't see anything soothing about today's media landscape, so his work might be retitled "The Media is the Rub".
