iUpload Announces Enhanced Version of Customer Conversation System

iUpload Platform Fosters Dynamic, Collaborative Online Communities for Enterprises and Media Publications; Newest Customers Include Newsweek, Northwestern Mutual and Kodak

Burlington, Ontario—September 18, 2006—iUpload today announced the newest version of its Customer Conversation System, a blogging platform for enterprises and publishers that enables Internet-based communities to improve communications, enhance customer relationships, drive sales leads and gather marketing data.

The latest release of the Customer Conversation System offers new features that facilitate increased collaboration and customer participation, including new voting capabilities, enhanced customization and permissioning, broader viewer involvement and integration with NewsGator’s market-leading suite of RSS solutions. These new capabilities and enhancements incorporate the most requested features from iUpload’s customer base of industry leading enterprises and publishing organizations, including new additions Newsweek, Northwestern Mutual, Kodak and Aetna.

iUpload’s Customer Conversation System includes the following new features and benefits:

  • Increased Insight into Community Interests – New social voting capabilities allow community members to select the content that is most important to them, providing new ways for enterprises/publishers to engage their audience and better understand their customers and market.

  • Enhanced Permissioning – Community categories can be exposed by specific security groups, allowing companies to give chosen bloggers trusted approval for some categories, but require editor moderation for others. Permissioning also controls which users can view and comment on posts, increasing control over comment spam.

  • Modular Points of Participation – All participation points (commenting, voting, submissions, etc.) in the platform are now exposed and can be called on from any site or application. This allows customers to easily add elements such as commenting, voting, rating and support for user generated content to existing sites.

  • NewsGator RSS Integration – iUpload has expanded its permissioning and sign-on to include NewsGator’s suite of RSS readers, including NetNewsWire, FeedDemon and NewsGator Inbox. This integration allows NewsGator’s products to work seamlessly inside any iUpload-created community.

  • Enhanced Template Administration – Administrators can exercise more control over the look and feel of their community, including blog templates, sign-up forms and other materials.

“Newsweek is committed to engaging with its readers on every possible level, from enabling customized news feeds through RSS, to allowing readers to comment and contribute to articles online,” said Kevin Stuart, audience development manager, Newsweek. “iUpload plays a strategic role in our online strategy and gives us the platform and tools necessary to encourage reader participation in the editorial process, while gaining insight into their interests.”

“In the constantly evolving Internet world, finding ways to encourage and facilitate customer participation is critical. By engaging with customers, employees and others, and providing a platform on which to solicit opinions and share ideas, companies can better understand the pulse of their market and business,” said Robin Hopper, CEO and founder of iUpload. “iUpload’s Customer Conversation System creates online communities that foster an informative dialogue with key audiences, lead to increased customer participation and ultimately optimize the marketing potential of their content.”

iUpload is the leader in blogging solutions for enterprises and publishers and works with industry leading companies such as McDonald’s, The New York Times Co., Petro Canada and Northwestern Mutual to help them improve both external and internal communications using Web 2.0 technology. iUpload’s Customer Conversation System combines a comprehensive set of blogging, wiki and content management tools with the IT management capabilities required for enterprise deployment, such as security, workflow, regulatory compliance and integration with existing enterprise applications and other third-party solutions.
